Does it seem like every post is related to SP1 or is it just me? Anyways...

When XP came out the 2K admin tools didn't work and Microsloth publicly released the beta version of the tools that came w .NET server which did work w XP and allowed you to administer Active Directory et al. Rebuilt my workstation from scratch the other day using a slipstreamed copy of XP SP1 and now those beta tools are telling me they're not designed to work w that version of the OS. Ripped apart M$'s site looking for an updated version and couldn't find anything.

Anybody have an updated version? I'm pulling .NET RC1 down now just on the off chance it has a working version but it might be a long shot. Gracias.

Under what version of XP and was it a fresh install or an upgrade? I have another machine that was upgraded to SP1 from the gold version and that works fine (admin tools installed prior to sp1 installation). The fresh install I did w SP1 slipstreamed is the one giving me errors on the install. Also, just to clarify, this isn't just the regular Admin Tools that come w the OS (eventvwr, compmgmt, local security policy, etc), this is the adminpak.msi that gives you all the AD tools.

Existing install of XP, with Adminpak installed, applied SP1, no issues.
I think it's the earlier versions of the .net adminpak that are causing the issues.
The version I installed was 6.0.3580.0.

Fresh install of OS and SP1, but I was talking ATools from the OS, not the advanced tools, sorry.

For those keeping score at home, I d/led .NET RC1 and pulled the adminpak.msi file from there and it worked like a champ.
