Anyone have tips for CS:S?

Probably due to most people aiming at the center of the person instead of the head region.

I do too. I think it lowers the head hit box alot low making it over lap the body's hitboxes. Plus alot of newer players have a habit at aiming for the body like above said.

Don't get me wrong I still crouch alot but I try not to in most circumstances where I need be able to be mobile quickly.

i only crouch if i know i wont draw fire from my shots, or if i know i hit them a few times already and I can take him out. crouching in a fire fight = "hit me!! i'm not a moving target!!"

Its a mix bag, I have a habit of dropping to a crouch automatically when I see an enemy. If the guy is a good player, he's aiming at my head and when I crouch his bullets catch air giving me an advantage. If he's a crappy player though, he was aiming at my gut and I just get shot in the face.

Some people may argue that it's better to stand, but just crouch, your chances of survival/accuracy greatly improve. Also, I can not stress this enough: buy grenades! Throw a flash into every unsure corner you are going to, and throw an HE into populated areas. Also, is the guy is less than 5-10 yards, don't crouch, just do quick burts into his head. The closer you are, the quicker your bursts should be. Headphones are also good to play with.
