I was surfing the web and found this device called

"Tornado Under The Hood".

Use Internet Explorer since the site doesnt work with Netscrape.

Its supposed to make the air pressure increase for more HP. I was thinking of adding it to my dinky little 93HP toyota for a little more "oomph" not that it isnt bad for city driving.

Any reviews.. or anyone heard of this product?

I actually did read a 3rd party review on these and they said they didn't get anything out of these. I wish I could remember who it was, it was in a car mag when I was in Discount Tire getting my Weld Typhoons put on i read about em.

I would get a blower instead

I read the same thing LAUST did. Basically the exact same performance and mileage, before and after the installation of "the amazing new one of a kind product."

The car I used as a baseline is a 1970 Dodge SuperBee 383 Magnum which was never noted for it's great gas mileage. After installing the TORNADO, mileage is up to 17.5-18 MPG from 15 MPG!! Actually Sport Compact Car magazine did an article about this a while back. They got the guy from Tornado himself to come and help them do the installation to make sure it was done right... Then they dyno the car before and after... The car actually lost a little HP after it was installed...

So in other words, don't get it, it's completely useless...

If you want a little more power, get a better air filter like K&amp;N ones...

It's just a bunch of snake oil. I'd never put a piece of junk like that on any of my cars.

Think about it simply. An internal combustion engine needs 3 things. Fuel, air, and compression. The air is metered through a MAF (Mass Air Flow) sensor. In order to put more air into the engine, you would need a supercharger or turbocharger, which are basically air pumps that force air into your engine. Using either of these devices would mandate a fuel change or your engine will lean out from the extra air. Their ad claims it causes the air to 'move faster'. The movement of the air is caused by the vacuum of the engine. The engine is only going to take the amount of air needed, along with what the MAF sensor states. This is a gimick and will only take your money. If it really did what it claimed, the auto manufacturers would be installing them on every car to help with fuel mileage numbers.

I smelt a rat too. Yes my dad works with Heat and Mass Transfer and Fluid Dynamics. What they suggest in increase in velocity and pressure in air could be a possiblity. I have to talk to my dad on what his thoughts are on the product.

I know my dad designed something to increase fuel pressure in rockets / jet engines but I dont know much about it. It was a turbine effect that is all I remember. This was several years back.

Will let you know on it.

Hoopdogg you hit it.. it was something to do with &quot;RAM JET&quot; propulsion.

But then he worked on several other nozzle / wing based calculations.
