I can pick this up for $219, seems like a pretty good price for a 24" monitor.
Dell ST2420L

My main use for this will be to hook it to my 15" laptop when I'm at my desk.

Description of what I use my monitor for:
Writing documents and general office drudgery, would be helpful to have two documents open side by side on one screen.
Websurfing
Very occasional gaming, maybe 3 or 4 hours a month, if that. Some months I won't play at all. I don't care if the monitor is perfect for gaming.

What I don't use it for:
Watching movies. I hook the laptop to the TV for that.

Does anyone have any experience with this monitor?

Dell's newer TN panels are EXTREMELY bright. As in REALLY bright. While they report good contrast, I haven't been able to get the brightness down to an acceptable level without colors being washed out on a ST2210B. If I set it down low enough that black becomes black, color saturation goes to shit.

For an "office" monitor, shouldn't be terribad, but keep in mind the brightness might cause a little eye strain.

Hmm, I'll take that into consideration. I tend to like a brighter monitor but my home office is a bit darker so a ridiculously bright monitor may be a bit harsh on the eyes. For office work can you turn it down enough that white on black for documents is ok?

Dell outlet had one for $179 with free shipping. At that price I figure it's hard to go wrong so I placed the order. :)
