I'm trying to install it on my Radeon 9800 but I can't get the back heatsink to sit down on the board. The heatsink is instead levitating just a hair above the components on the back of the card. Is it suppose to do that or is it suppose to be sitting completely on the board?

I have the original version (without fan option and in gold). It isn't supposed to touch any components besides the VGU

EDIT: The two big plates connect themselves to the VGU but the little heatsinks should stick directly to your chips.

It's to make sure none of the metal parts on the board short on the metal. The top heatsink is just there to transfer the heat from the heatpipe to the heatsink.

Yup, shorting out protection. I'm running mine on my Geforce 4 TI4200 without a fan and it works great. I'm not a big gamer and this card works great for neffing and programming with the occassional Battlefield or Unreal Tournament.

That model does not cover any memory chips. Its only for the GPU, VPU. Works pretty well on my Geforce2 ti500 :D
