Anyone have the Samsung 753DF Syncmaster (flat screen)....?

How is this monitor for general use?

The refresh rate is horrible compared to my PF790 (Viewsonic), ....
But I was able to get Staples to pricematch Buy.Com and ship for free (less $40 with coupon also)
Came out to be pretty cheap for a 17" flat screen.

Now.... am I going to be sorry??

Anyone own this pup?

As long as you stay in 1024x768 you'll be fine, you get 85Hz referesh. Otherwise at 1280x1024 you drop to 65Hz (anything below 70Hz gives you flicker - anything more than 70Hz is a bonus).

85Hz is not bad at all (especially for a 17&quot😉....

I had thought it was 65Hz even at the 1024X768.... Feel much better now, thanks for the link.

Anyone have this monitor, and if so what are you feelings about it?

Wait a minute, before you call the 753DF horrible, think about what you just compared. A mid/low end 17" monitor to a mid/high end 19" monitor. Now that looks like a fair game to me. The optimal resolution on a 17" is 1024x768, and the 753DF does a good job(85Hz) on this resolution, I dont think it's bad at all. If refresh rate/resolution is important to you, I suggest going with a higher model, either 755DF or 700NF.

No..... actually I am fine with the 85Hz at 1024X768. That's good enough for me!
