Anyone have the Gear VR?

Got mine yesterday. I must say I am pretty impressed with it. Other than watching my movies some of the 360 video are amazing. I definitely see gaming potential but videos of concerts in 360 are amazing. I hope the devs continue on this.

In 360 view? I dont think so. There is SW that can convert your movies into stereo 3D but I havent tried it yet. Been watching my mkv/mp4 movie in the theater mode. Its pretty damn close to being in a movie theater. But it truly shines in the 360 movies/shorts/demos.

Yep. Saw empire strikes back last night from a DVD rip and its literally like sitting in a theater. My head moved back and forth watching the action.

yeah. I hear there will be one for the S6 and S6 Edge. Same specs I believe but the S6 has a higher PPI so it may look better.

I was gonna do the same, but I got a tax refund and before I give most of it to bills I figured I was a good boy and deserved this. Plus, I have spent much more on more useless junk. As long as I dont scratch the lenses I should get many years out of it. Just for the sheer enjoyment of watching movies without being distracted. I must say that using this with headphones alone or not alone makes me jumpy. Im just waiting for my son to scare the shit out of me while I use it.

I don't have it, but the immersion alone to me is why I'm pretty high on the new good VR. I don't care about head tracking or being able to change my view, and even without 3D it's pretty good but then really shines with good 3D.

I see a bunch of people who haven't used it acting like this is just 3D crap like you get with glasses at theaters and it's so much more than that.

Own a s6 edge, would a cardboard kit allow me to used the same xontent? The movie theater player sounds fun!

I would suggest downloading the SDK from Oculus. It contains a lot of great documentation including packaging / approval process.
