Apparently it has two versions of the movie...at the beginning you can click "Convert" or "Fight". Either way, there's a clip where the director talks about how they've changed the movie for the director's cut. I haven't seen the movie before so I don't know what the differences are...

Ah well. I clicked Fight.

At the beginning? Does the whole movie change drastically?

I don't know, I haven't seen it before and I just started it. When you put the DVD in, the very first thing you see is a menu where you can click Convert or Fight.

Pitch Black > Riddick, but Riddick was still entertaining IMO :)

Riddick is out today, is it worth purchasing on DVD or should I reserve this for a rental or when it's dirt cheap in the stores?

REntal or the bargain bin. The plot was full of holes. Not to mention the fight scenes were so freaking muddy and unclear it was pointless. The directors should have just showed the piles of bodies and skipped the fight scenes.
