Anyone have the Ballistix ram? Help me find two good 1gb sticks...

I've been pondering on buying the Tracer 2x1gb kit from Crucial but it seems that they use the same chips and all as these.

Doesn't look very good - seems like everyone is getting dying sticks...

Anyone have the tracer version? Any problems?

Need something that can get to at least ddr520-540 ish...with at least 3-4-4-8 if these don't work out...

Ballistix has a bad batch in circulation. Rumor has it that most of the bad sticks have been RMA'd. But now newegg is offering a $75 rebate to clear thier inventory? Sounds sketchy to me.

If you're smart do what I'm doing- order direct from crucial. I doubt they'll send you the bad batch and if they do, they will CROSS SHIP your RMA if you buy direct from them!

IMO, get the G.Skill extreme 2x1GB kit from newegg. $100 cheaper and should have little problem hitting 270Mhz.

How can it MAX at below stock? DDR 500 is 250 Mhz. This guy has a bad power supply, motherboard or chip- I find it hard to believe it is the ram.

Got this ram up to 275mhz (3-4-4-8)
Runs 270MHz @ 3-4-4-8
260ht 1:1 with my venice 3200+ on stock voltage

This ram has a huge reputation for being a good overclocker, check XtremeSystems!
