You mean FBB. 😉 I don't want a liter bike. Well, technically, I do but it is a Ducati Monster 1100 EVO with 100hp on tap out of a two valve air cooled motor. Nowhere near literbike territory but it will easily lift the front wheel if I want it to.

It's funny, I was looking at Marchesini wheels online and found that Marchesini makes wheels for the SV650, they cost about $3,000 for a set, but they do make them.

I know you have been on bikes for quite a few years now as well.
 
Quite frankly, I can't think of any reason where it makes sense to have a 1L sportbike over a 600cc supersport. Unless you're getting a niche bike like a Ducati or Speed Triple because they have gobs of torque but relatively no top end, a liter bike just doesn't make sense for street riding with a little twisty action thrown in. If you're hitting the track once or twice (minimum) a month then I will agree that a 1L bike is appropriate.

go ride my R6 around town, then ride an R1.

you will wish you had the R1. the weezy down low power of my r6(doesnt crack 70hp till about 8200rpm) is painful at times in stop and go

just because the power is there doesnt mean you have to use it.

they are just not very good at all the day to day stuff compared to the 675, even the gsxr750, and the literbikes.

I rode a 600 around town for many years.. you set up your bike with sprockets for around town usage instead of high speed or track usage the problem goes away.
sprockets with a pipe and a tune just as street-able as a 750.

it only takes an hour to switch out different gearing combos.
I kept a setup for both street and for "fun" or track days.

yes the 1000 has oomph galore down low.
but that alone still does not make it a weapon worth putting in a new riders hands at all.

if you want around town capabilities dont buy a 600SS anyway..
buy a Vtwin (SV Duc Aprillia etc) much better around town manners than a 600 or even a liter.

That's one thing I love about my triple, throttle response is the same EVERYWHERE! It's definitely more noticeable down low, but I still get a kick in the ass accelerating from 8k to redline. I've heard that complaint more than once from my friends riding supersports about how the response they want isn't always on hand because they aren't in "the zone".

It's not the prettiest looking thing, but it is uncommon. The liter and higher bikes definitely look better.

I miss my 500 already, but after sitting on a performance minded bike, it'll be hard to go back to a stock 500 meant for a beginner.

I've hit a couple of bumps in the road when riding around town (San Antonio roads are shit!) that I wasn't expecting and the throttle will blip and the bike will remind me to respect it or else...
