Anyone have the 191T?

I`ve a Samsung 191T which has excellent image quality, ghosting wise under heavy gaming like Q3,UT,TFC etc it`s minimal, what I mean is there`s some slight ghosting but not enough to distract you from gaming and most times you don`t really notice it(I`m using mine in DVI Mode).

As to all things you really need to see & judge for yourself.

I`ve not tried mine for TV,however I`ve tried mine for DVD movies which was ok.

I don't have the 191t. I do however have the 192t, which is not much more price wise. At the time I got mine it was only about $70 more. I am not sure what the price difference is now. I have had no issues with ghosting. Games played include Americas Army, C&C Generals, Star Wars Galaxies and Raven Shield among others. I love this monitor and would highly recommend it.

also, i was thinking 191T+ due to the swivel capability, which I need. does the 192T have swivel?

No, it does not. I went back and forth wondering about the 191t and 192t for awhile. I read a lot of reviews and talked to some people. The main differences were

Price = 191t (or 191t+) wins here.
General quality(image and so on) = the 192t wins here. Though its not like night and day.
Swivel feature = 191t. Not possible on 192t.

I thought about it and realized that I would pretty much never use the swivel feature anyways. So the higher quality easily won out for me and I got the 192t. If this makes a difference to you the 191t is the only way to go. Get either the 191t+ or the 192t over that 17". Thats not even a comparision 🙂

the reader reviews that i have read about the 191t+ on newegg.com have seemed very bad, they talk about horrible ghosting...

these LCD screens, if the more larger the screen size, the more it's prone to ghosting as what I have observed, even with my 15"inch, which has 28ms response time, but there's almost zero noticeable ghosting even with DVD playback or FPS games, but when I saw my cousin's 19"inch Samsung as abovementioned model 191T+, it has visibly noticeable ghosting, all these are most likely due to a bigger screen size, which is my own deduction from having personal experience.

I don't know about the 191t+. But at least on my 192t ghosting has not been even a slight issue with me. I am very happy with it and game frequently.

I have two 191T's next to an old Sony 520GS.

Do they ghost compared to a CRT? Yes.

Is it noticeable? For a week or two, you might notice it a bit, after that, you won't notice it at all, especially if you can game in the native resolution of the LCD. Games that won't do native can/will look like crap, especially if they've got chat windows(mmorpg, etc.)

I finally decided I could play all of my games on the LCD displays, and retired the 520GS last week.

If I was still a competitive FPS nut, I'd probably keep the CRT as main.

hmm...this is really getting tough. i dont want to deal with returns if it ghosts horribly, and, I am also looking at the 1703fp, it has USB ports built in, which is a major plus in my situation, and does swivel. methinks it wont ghost TOO badly, or atleast not as much as the 191T+

btw, what is the difference b/w the 191T and the 191T+?

I don't even notice the ghosting on my 191T except in Max Payne 2 when you reload while in slow motion and the camera quickly pans around Max (it's really more a blurring effect than ghosting, which I think is better anyways). It's very nice too to have a bigger monitor than a 17inch, even if the screen real estate isn't any bigger. I think the only difference between the 191T and the 191T+ is contrast ratios.

The 191t+ is a slightly improved version. I would definetly get one of the 19" Samsung's over a 17". Unless pivot is a big deal to you I would get the 192t. I love mine.

Unless I'm mistaken, the 192T also has 2 USB ports built into the base.

Nope, it has 0. I have some crazy amount on my case though so it didn't matter to me. I have only used the USB port built into any of my monitors once. But if thats a big deal there are none one the 192t.

any more opinions?

also, is it a buyers market for 19" LCDs at the moment? in terms of ghosting vs. quality vs. price. I have the chance of investing the money into stock which could grow or decrease, or buying an LCD...

Just wondering, have you thought about waiting for another sale on the Dell 2001fp? Last sale it was only around $100 or so more than a 191T. It's supposed to be ghost free, does 1600x1200 and has usb ports.

touche. but am i patient enough to wait? that sir will be one helluva question to answer...

also, doesnt the 2001fp have problems with "screen-dooring", tons of dead/stuck pixels, and leaking backlights?
