I getting this cheapo computer together to donate to a youth type center for all ages still in school (12-18). Any suggestions for programs to put on there for fun/educational purposes?
I am trying to get Oregon Trail and will put whatever free word processor I can find on it. I don't have a clue what else would be good to put on there. I'm pretty sure the kids will be stoked just to play solitare but I would like them to get something fun....

Thanks guys/gals.

they aren't exactly "free" but if you head over to the local KMart, you could find a shelf of CDs for like, 5 bucks each with multiple games on them. You're bound to find a couple of good ones.

HAHA, very tempting! Ya this is for the Christian Appalachian Project so that would probably not be agreat idea. Thanks for the openoffice website, I knew i remember seeing something in software about that....

What is computer going to be used for? Just surfing the 'net? I would install a anti-virus program and a firewall.
