Spring Cleaning

I'm not sure how it works but I believe it could be very useful for moving programs to a new pc, which I will be putting together in the next couple of weeks. Also looks good for backing programs up if say you lost the installation disc. If you have used it before please post your comments.

Depending the length of time passed between a new upgrade or reinstall of Windows, I generally need to get more recent versions of a lot of programs. I keep most all .EXE or .ZIP of the programs currently installed on a separate partition, but much of them have newer versions anyway. So in preparation of a new build/install, I write down or print the programs I currently have then start by downloading the newest versions of them so the new install goes quicker.

So I don't have any comment on that program, but with a new build I would feel better having a fresh copy of all the latest versions of stuff I need. It's great nowadays that some many freeware and open source programs are as good or better than a lot of retail ones. And they are constantly updated. So the majority of my tasks/productivity/multimedia programs are simple downloads of the latest version. Only things like games and Office generally stay the same which are on CD/DVD anyway.
