Anyone have Redhat 9.0 and a 536EP Modem?

I'm trying to get it configured in Linux at this moment and I'm having trouble.

http://developer.intel.com/design/modems/support/drivers_linux.htm

Intel-v92ham-453.tgz
MD5628D-L-B Linux drivers for MD5628-L-B chip

That is the one I downloaded.

I followed the 3 step instructions and all ran fine without errors - but I still can't get Linux to see the modem (but I'm not used to RH though its nicer than Mandrake...in the Drake it would have an entire config utility that would list ALL the hardware even if it didn't have the proper drivers. In RH I can't even get it to realize there is a modem them)

Anyone have any idea on what to do? All the ports in KPPP don't work - and if i try /dev/modem it just hangs forever.

I suggest posting this on the forum of a prominent linux site that has a forum. I have used Red Hat 8, and Linux-Mandrake 9.1 but I mainly use Gentoo right now and I do a lot of work in it, but I don't know how to solve your problem. I really don't have the time to sit and try and think about how to solve it but I have a lot of work to do, sorry man. But like I said, you should try posting this in the forums of a linux website to see.

uh..why you wanting 'Intel-v92ham-453.tgz'..when you more likely need ..'Linux drivers for MD5628D-L-C chip' as the Intel-536ep-460.tgz looks and should be more towards the chipset of a 536EP ..but that's just my look at it...not running Linux RH 9.0 here or any other flavor..

oops my bad I posetd the link for the wrong drivers but I am using the ones you are reccomending.

As for visiting enthuiasts site the only problem is i don't like registering and then never posting again...at the places I sign up (currently 3) I actively post
