Anyone have problems with their Thinkpad and Ipod?

My sister just got an Ipod Mini, so I was trying to set it up on the laptop. It is a Thinkpad T20 (2647) and the Ipod is not being recognized on it. When I plug it in I hear the chiming sound, but nothing happens after that. I look in device manager and I can't find any reference to the Ipod. The Ipod manual mentions that you need USB 2.0, but I can't find whether the laptop has 2.0 or 1.1 Is the USB port the reason? Anybody have similar problems? If so, how do you get around it?
 
Your T20 definately has a usb 1.1 port on it. I picked up a USB 2.0 and Firewire combo pcmcia card and my Ipod 15gig 3g works just fine on my T22. I was able to find my card for $20 on clearance at Best Buy, but I'm sure you can find a USB 2.0 pc card for less than that somewhere online.
