Hey guys i just built a new rig and my motherboard like many others only has 1 IDE channel. So i purchased 2 of these for my DVD and DVDRW drives, and im getting very very poor performance through the dvd burner, my dvd drive hangs my computer at the windows boot screen. Both drives are on Master and i tried on the Intel Sata controller, Jmicron and Silicon Image same results. Anyone have luck with these? I never had a problem with the old school Abit SeriellII adapters on my old BH7.

I've never used an adapter like either of those. They appear that they only connect via cables and would be loose in the case with twice as much cable to clutter things. If you have an extra PCI slot, why not get a controller card instead?

1) The SATA cable takes up less space than IDE
2) The SATA connection can be disconnected if you're thrashing inside the case so make sure it's connected before you put the side on

:)
