Anyone have or have seen an Antec P182SE?

The door/side panels don't look like regular metal on this case.
I'm considering buying one and cutting a hole for a 250mm fan in the door but I'm not sure whatever it's made of will hold up to a jigsaw cutting.
Any input is appreciated.

You talking about the shiny one? Yes, I've seen one. They're essentially chromed refrigerators and it would defeat the whole purpose of it if you were to drill a 250mm hole on the side of it.

Is it a Haier?

Well....does that mean a jigsaw would or would not make a good cut?

Why would you want to drill a hole into a P182SE? You'd have a shiny mirrored case....with a hole in it..
Short of that though, I'm not sure what it's made of. If you're going to be drilling holes, why not look at a regular P182? It might be a bit less... conspicuous.

P182 are black not chrome. Anyway I was considering a 250m fan in the P182SE.
Don't worry if I destroy it there'll still be a hundred thousand of them on the market.😀

No actually It would look quite nice with a 250mm fan on the side surrounded by chrome.
Also I'm not convinced you know what you're talking about when you say it can be done with a jigsaw. My concern is that the metal will bend.

The metal shouldn't bend but it will be very hard to get a clean cut and make it look good. Chances are you'll scratch the chromed surface up as you cut it.

But basicly the side panel has 2 or 3 layers. You have the cromed aluminum plate on the surface then a plastic layer under that and possibly one other layer. The side panel is design to be sound dampening for noise reduction in the case. Kind of defeats the purpose of the case to destroy it like that.

Unless you have serious tools for doing this, none of us here would recommend doing it. However, considering the refrigerator design of the Antec Performance One series cases, I'd say you destroy one anyway just so we'd have one less P180/182 in the world.

the side panels of p180 series is noise insulated. Its not a regular alu side panel.

so if you drill a hole to make a side panel, you really destoryed that case.

This is what everyone is trying to say.

You should find a shop that has a waterjet for laserlike precision cutting 😛 Ask friends and stuff. That would make for a nice cut for sure.

I had an extra side panel for my P-180 and I put a 120mm fan in the side, by cutting a hole with a jigsaw on slow to medium speed with a fine blade. You have to protect the panel with tape pr heavy paper so not as to scratch the surface, and be careful with the cut. I than put a 4x4 inch fillter screen on the out side to cover the hole and make it sort of a finished look .

I have the P182SE. Temp's are pretty good in the case. At 3.4, my Q6600 doesn't get over 70c w/ the stock fans. What is that you are going to be doing that you need the 250mm for? I vote for replacing the 120mm's w/ one's that move more air.

I've been thinking about this one... http://www.coolerguys.com/840556082507.html

As far as the case goes. The interior being painted black is really nice. Looks great, no sharp edges (that I've noticed anyway). The interior light is useless to me as it runs off USB power. I need the light when my PC is off, not on. The mirror finish is OK, it looks cool, but not incredible. It's a nice solid case, I will say that.
