Anyone have Mortal Kombat Deception?

I am mainly wondering if anyone has it for the XBox, and I'm wondering if they have the Kollectors Edition.

I am just wondering if you can play the 'arcade perfect' Mortal Kombat 1 on XBox Live, or if it's only the MK: Deception that you can play online. thanks.

I played this yesterday, and belive it or not it was actually good.

dude KI is my favorite game ever. that is the reason i bought my cabinet above in the pic. i have ki1, ki2, mk1, and mk2 that all can fit in there. the only games i really play in it are mk1 and ki1... my mk2 soundboard is fvcked 🙁

I played it on Saturday and can't say that I liked it...I haven't played the last few iterations, but I played up through MK3:Ultimate pretty hardcore.

The pacing's all different and the combo system's changed...not that I mind that inparticular, but the timing is just so freakin slow.
 
I've been looking all over South Florida for an old beat-up cabinet but I can't seem to find one. I really want to build a MAME cabinet...
 
I played Deception about a week ago. It was really a polished turd. They added alot of fluff to it, but the general gameplay lacks when compared to Soul Caliber and even Dead or Alive. Unless you just want to play with the instant kills, pass it up. The special "level kills" are way too easy to do and take away from the gameplay.

It's very similar to Deadly Alliance, but it's also a lot of fun. I really liked DA but then lost interest in it after a while. I need to learn fatalities n' stuff still with this guy. 🙂
Anyways, I dont have the collector's version, simply because the store I bought it from didnt have it in yet, something about a shipment screwup. I've yet to play Deception online, so I cant be sure if it's any good.
 
thanks guys, so it looks like MK1 is not online 🙁 so I don't think I will be buying it ...

as for as the gameplay, i have played it as well. i still cant decide if i like it or not. i actually think the 'instant kills' that are like ring outs are a nice effect, i really liked that part. for those who have played on xbox live, how is it on there? that is one thing that is relaly making me want to buy it, because i love playing fighters against other people, not the AI though. and in MK games, the AI has been horrible since MK1 days, you would think they would learn.

oh and my cabinet, i got the ki2 game for $300 😛. Yes i know its a STEAL of a deal, especially w/the 25" monitor in it. and the KI2 pcb/hd kit goes for like $250 itself. so i got lucky 🙂

i also have ki1 pcb/hd and mk1 and mk2 for it, but my mk2 soundboard is fried, and i fried my mk1 soundboard last time i put it in the cab as well 🙁

Uh, you can turn off the level kills if you don't like them.

And they aren't trying to make the game like Soul Caliber or Dead or Alive. It's a pretty nice blend of the old school MK games, with newer combo oriented games. Once you get the hang of the fighting system, it's really good.

And it's even more fun once you unlock Liu Kang. He dominates.

Kabal is sooo cheap 😛 MK3 was the best though.
 
MK 1-3 sucked and I can't comment on ones that came after but they probably suck too. The combat lacked fluidness. It was all about doing a preset combo/move moving out of that combo meant certain death since you would stop sit there for a second before moving on to what you told the character to do.
 
my favorite was mk2, then mk1, then mk3 ... mk3 ultimate is when the mk series started to go downhill IMO. also, MK2 and MK3 are coming out for xbox today ... on the midway arcade treasures 2, and its only $20 🙂.

as far as ayashikalbutsu's comment, part 1 and 2 didnt even have combos in the sense as mk3 did. maybe it had a little 2 hit combo like jumpkick , slide (with subzero). so i dont know wtf you were talkin about in that sense.

my best combo in MK2 is w/scorpion ... jump kick very deep, teleport immediately, spear immediately before he hits the ground, uppercut 🙂
