Anyone have luck upgrading (not clean install) from XP to Vista?

I've seen several reports of people not being able to do a direct upgrade it vista...freezes or something...has anyone done it sucessfully?

I've heard a lot of people say it worked fine for them, but never tried it myself.

Keep in mind that "upgrading" to Vista basically exports settings and than installs Vista clean and imports settings over top so by design it's going to be "cleaner" than previous MS OS upgrade processes... (or so the theory goes)

Is vista dual-bootable? I mean, if I have XP running on my system already, can I choose which one I'd like to run from the boot menu?

Yes, install Vista and it will replace the boot loader with it's own and automatically set the system up with a dual-boot menu.
