I have 2 routers on my network. Router 1 is n a closet and it connects to router 2 (via cat6) which is located in the center of the house. Router 2 is the e1000 that I just bought and noticed the guest network feature. Seems like something I would like to use. Problem is the Cisco Connect software need to be loaded on my PC and it was supposed to load during the routers initial setup. For some reason when I tried to run the cisco set up disc it would never find my PC???? And at this time I had it directly connected to my PC. So, I just skipped the software and set the router up manually. I have no issues connecting to it from my main PC (router has no also been placed in center of house) and the router sees my tivo fine as well. So, everything is working normally. I would just like to utilize the guest network feature but I can't get the software to run. Any ideas on what I could try?

So, I am trying to run the software now but it gets stuck and gives me "This computer does not appear to have wireless capability". What would that matter? I am wired into the e1000 through my other router. Router 1 does DHCP, router 2 has DHCP off.

The diagram they show on this setup page tells you to connect your computer into the blue port on the router. Shouldn't have anything to do with wireless???

Everything that the router is capable of doing, should be accessable by directly pointing your web browser at the router's LAN IP, and using the config menus. At least I've never bothered using their software CD.

There are a few features that are only available when the cisco software is installed. None of them show up anywhere within the browser configuration.
