Anyone have info on TRIM support in Intel's Matrix Storage Manager?

I am planning to get an Intel G2 SSD soon to go along with my Win 7 install, but I am disappointed by the lack of support for the TRIM command in Intel's Matrix Storage Manager.

Here is my problem: I have my controller set to SATA AHCI mode. If I use a generic Win 7 driver my SATA DVD RW drive is not recognized as a RW drive, just as a regular DVD (not sure why). So, I need Intel's MSM driver. But if I use MSM, I give up TRIM on the SSD. It is very ironic that the Intel Drive supports TRIM, the OS supports TRIM, but Intel's OWN driver does not!

I haven't found any mentions anywhere of when MSM is expected to support TRIM. Does anyone here have any added info? Is there any drawback of installing the SSD right now, without TRIM support, and just updating the MSM driver when it starts to support TRIM? What is everyone else doing?

According to Anand, Intel will be releasing their TRIM driver after Win7 is officially released. Even without TRIM, the G2 drive doesn't lose much performance in a used state, which is a filled to capacity state. For me, I've only got some 23 of the 74gb filled so I'm happy to wait until the Win7 release.

Thanks BaboonGuy! I guess there is no "downside" of installing it now, since I will still start benefiting from TRIM once Intel releases the updated driver, and my SS will definitely not be anywhere near capacity. I suppose that even WITH the performance degradation, it still much better than a regular spindle drive.
