Anyone have Grado SR60's?

It happens to me all the time and it's driving me nuts. OK, not nuts, but I figure some people have worked out something to keep them from coming off. I've had mine for a while and I figure that the longer you've had these and the more you use them the easier those foam pads slip off the drivers. I've thought of gluing them on, but am hesitant to try it. Has anyone experimented with some method of holding those puppies on?

I own SR60's, and I have never noticed that problem. I've had them about 3-4 months

I don't think the problem developed until I'd had mine for some time. I bought mine summer of 1999. The ear pads loosen and stretch over time and the more stretched they become, the easier it is for them to slip off the drivers. It happens to me all the time now and I have to find the missing pad, refit it on the driver... it's quite an annoyance.

Bowl pads?? What are those? An optional accessory for the Grados?

I guess I'll just keep using the pads I have. I've learned ways of not knocking them off. I could glue them on but then they wouldn't spin and I figure they'd wear out faster because my ears would always hit them in pretty much the same place.

The SR 60's, and the defunct SR-40's and whatever the new Street Style cans are, are the only pairs of headphones that Grado makes that does not use bowl style ear pads. Instead, it's just a solid sheet of soft foam that is against your ear. The bowl pads are hard foam pads that have the center cut out and the edges raised. With these pads, the headphones mainly rest against your head on the edges of the pads. Looking at the current website though, they have the SR-60's pictured with bowl pads (though they may be flat bowls which was a mod that people on Head-fi did a while back using pads from a different headphone brand). Anyway, it does change the way the sound and feel, I can't remember if I really preferred the change but I kept them anyway. The bowl pads fit tighter on the headphones since they are made of a much denser foam.
