Anyone have experiences selling 24 karat gold jewelry to a store?

Does anyone have experience selling 24 karat gold jewelry to a store? It's an asian tradition to give gold as a wedding gift, but there's no way my wife would wear any of the stuff that was given, it's too bad, since I know 24 karat gold necklaces are really expensive. Does anyone have any experience selling this kind of jewelry to a store? I know I wouldn't get anywhere close to retail value for it, but I don't want to get totally ripped off when I try to sell it.

Just keep it man, you will get ripped off bad. You could have it melted and made into something that your wife would like.

Ebay it you may get closer to the actual value then selling it to a store.
