I keep hearing of people who have gotten the 2 programs to work together, so I'm giving it my best shot. I just nerfed my past Mandrake 8.1 install totally, and installed 8.2 fresh. The only programs I've installed now are Wine (Latest version from winehq.com installed, but I used binaries for RH 7.0), and trillian.
I only have 2 problems, but one is fairly significant. The first is font displaying. Instead of a standard normal font, some trillian messages are displayed in a large blocky font that's almost unreadable. This is just a minor annoyance.
My real problem comes in the form of random freezes. I'll be running trillian fairly well, talking to a friend, and suddenly, X freezes. I can move my mouse pointer around, but clicks dont do anything. I can't open xkill or anything else, so I have to ctrl+alt+backspace out of X and restart X.
I received several errors when installing the wine rpm's, but clicked 'force', and it seemed to install fine. Should I maybe try compiling from source? I'd like to find an easier alternative before I bother with that.
