go ahead and chuckle all you linux people, i know you are!
anyway, i have a 950mhz athlon and a 550mhz k6-2 in a lan and i would like to try to make a cluster with them. i do lots of video editing and recompression takes forever! getting both systems to work on it might help. i tried to install pvm but windows won't let me set up remote administration (it's gettin buggy, about to reinstall it...) so i can't use it. i also don't think it is what i need, i am just starting to program in c++ and pvm seems to be an ide for coding distributed software.
so does anyone know of software for windows that will break up the work and put both systems to work on it? i am obviously looking for a cost effective solution here, i could just buy a 1.4ghz athlon for the price of some of this software, so i'm looking for open source or otherwise free software.
thanks for any help. it would be a cool thing to set up!
