Anyone have experience with various iPod FM transmitters?

I just bought the Monster iCarplay and I am not impressed at all. It has 8 preset stations to choose from, and in the Seattle, WA area none of them are absolutely free from some sort of broadcast. The iCarplay seems to do a poor job of transmitting the signal and it is laden with fuzz, static, and sometimes nothing resembling music what so ever.

I have off and on success with it though, sometimes on 88.3 it will transmit the signal alright, but it is still fairly poor signal and I just don't think I got my monies worth.

So has anyone tried the Kensington Digital FM Transmitter/Charger? That's the one I was eyeing if I end up returning my current one. I think you can choose from any station and it charges as well.

So does anyone have any recommendations as to what FM transmitter works "best?" I don't have a tape deck and I'm not about to spend money on a new receiver so this is really my only option.

I have an iTrip. I havent really had it for long, and it seems that the effectiveness is based really on the quality of the radio. My car will pick it up perfectly from 30+ feet away, but the stereo in my kitchen has to be right next to it. All in all, a pretty good transmitter, a little steep if your looking for a cheap one though.

Not to mention you are just never going to get a REALLY good signal with an FM transmitter. It will always get some interference from somwhere. I had one that could choose ANY station I wanted and I never found one that was perfect.

Well after a week with the itrip I've changed my mind. I finally found the perfect of the 8 stations to set it to, and also if I turn on DAB it seems to perform better as well. I change my 1/5 stars to a 4/5 stars now.
