Anyone have experience with these super cheap no-name motorcycles?

The Hyosung is a good bike. It would be a better choice though if parts weren't so hard to come by.

That's one thing that would definitely make me pick a Japanese bike over something else. Even if the Chinese bike was decent quality (which it isn't) the parts availability will be much worse.

Anyone gotten one of these?

I purchased a haonio HN 125-8 (AKA lexmoto vixen)last year for my otherhalf as she was interested in taking up biking too.

Idea was to get a cheap 125 for a year so she can get some experiance then she could get a bike of her liking if she decided she enjoyed it.

bike is on a 57 plate (2007) 1 owner 8000 miles and rusty as hell, cost £300.

Since owning it (only 14 months) I have had to do the following work:
replace chain & both sprockets as the chain had stretched and was jumping teeth
remove side stand switch - caused engine to cut out when raining
Replaced Regulator Rectifier
rewired 75% of the bike due to R&R packing up and putting out over 23v
had the back wheel nut come off when riding and the axle came half out (aaaaarrrr) the swinging arm, now i have a locking nut and split pin there too
rev counter does not work, never has
new front disc, original had warped.

Gonna sell it before the next MOT as the front forks have become very pitted due to corrosion, and will no doubt begin leaking soon.

Oh and everything is covered in rust....

If your anywhere near bedfordshire your welcome to come have a look, may even put the kettle on too.

So my advice is if you buy it new keep it no more than 3 years it will be a bargain. After 3 years expect alot of problems due to bad construction materials.

The engines aren't my issue with these things.

It's things like handlebar mounts, shift levers, what happens when one of these break while you're trying to cross traffic?.. When you're on a motorcycle everything needs to be 100%. I've yet to see a chinese bike that looked safe on typical american streets.

Yep, parts and service.

For their regular price (not the sale) you can get a used Ninja or Honda in that ball park. I'd probably go that route because parts and service will be easy to find, and they're known to be bullet proof.
