Anyone have experience with the After Morning Pill?

Well, she didn't use protection but he didn't "do" anything in her, he withdrew before anything happened. Still, she is worried sick about pre-stuff, so I'm dragging her to the clinic tomorrow to find out her options.

Tried to use interesting vocabulary here so it doesn't offend anyone.

Only heard about it from a few other people, expect to be ill afterwards, but considering the other options it isn't really all that bad.

Then one must repeat:

<< Your friend should have used protection >>

He did enough in her and she's worried enought that she should have used protection.

Anyway, morning after isn't fun. You're pretty much taking a megadose of what is normally a birth control pill in an effort to force the body to miscarry. She can look forward to feeling awful the next 3-4 days.

You don't get a perscrption to the "morning after pill" You go to a clinic and they give you one to take.

yup. my gf had to take one about 3 months ago. We were worried at first, but the doc reassured us that our chances were slim. and believe you me, I learned my lesson. I'm fully stocked up on trojans 😉

How bad is awful? Trust me, I gave her a good lecture afterward, but I need to be a good friend here... so how awful are we talking about?

hmm, she had no problems at all. and they just give you one so its not like a prescription. they also gave her an extra one just in case

Probably some cramping, will put you in bed for a day at most, it's really not that bad. Kinda sucks that you're taking her instead of the guy that should've used a condom. Personally I think it's wrong of you guys to put the blame solely on her for not using a condom, it usually takes two to have sex. And remember you need to take them within 72 hours of intercourse, otherwise it's too late. I'm not a doctor so don't hold me to this, but what you can also do is take 4 normal birth control pills and you'll be getting the same dosage (that's what morning after pills were when they first came out). Hope everything turns out ok for your friend.

Thanks virtuamike, you're right, it's not entirely her fault. I'll let you all know how it turns out, hopefully for the best.

Actually, I was worried when I had to take the morning after pill (condom broke) that I'd be sick, but I felt absolutely fine, no sickness *at all*

I don't remember which brand name they gave me though, it's been a year

<< Yeah, I swalllowed a bunch once, thought it was Vitamin C. >>

How could you think what comes out of a penis was vitamin C? 😛

That is completely false, if you are pregnant the pill does not work. You must be thinking of Ru-486, that causes an abortion. Here is an article that explains the difference.Morning after pill

myputer -

you're my hero... i was just about to reply to that post! it's nice to see somebody who knows what's up... 🙂

Am I the only one that thinks this mysterious "he" is the guy that should be taking her to the clinic, rather than you? What kind of lousy guy is she sleeping with?

notfred, don't let my username fool you, I'm not shady 🙂 However, she called me up this early evening with this problem and for some reason the guy isn't returning her calls. That doesn't matter though, she does not want to goto her parents about this, so instead of tracking down this guy, for the time being, I'm going to help her. I was doing some research online just so I can have some sort of idea what she's getting into.

iamshady - just have her use the freaking morning after pill... whatever side effects they are, i guarantee they won't be as bad as pregnancy.

No, I wasn't insinuating anything about you. you're acting like a true friend. You're friend however, looks to have poor taste in sex partners, if he jsut up and disappears like that.
