Anyone have experience with refurbished Garmin watches?

Wife is getting a new running watch, and it's between the Foreunner 35 and a refurbished 235, which both sell for around $170. New, the 235 goes for $70 more, but she's a tight-ass who'll never pay the extra cash.

So: My experience in general is that refurbished electronics sold by Amazon are fine, but wondering if I should have any concerns about pushing the 235 on her over a brand new 35. Going to be using it until something breaks, because she rarely upgrades for the sake of new tech.
