Anyone have experience with portable scanners?

I am basically paperless but I need a scanner to capture mail as it comes in to pdf. I don't want to have a big printer/scanne or scanner for asthetic reasons. Has anyone tried the portable scanners?

At work some contractor that is doing work for us using this one. Its decent but pretty slow, think an older fax machine.

Thanks. Not sure I can afford it. I'm thinking I will go with an all-in-one printer since some of them contain document feeders and they are about the same price as cheap flatbeds.
