My gf is lactose intolerant and it annoys me because I like to be able to cook whatever the hell I want and not be limited.. But I can't cook anything with dairy - which sucks. Her friend said that she took Lactagen a few years ago and now she can eat dairy...

So, my gf wants to buy Lactagen for $150. I'm skeptical, however..

Anyone on THESE forums actually take Lactagen and have it work? Please tell me your story.

I already know that it's almost viral in the way it's marketed on the Internet. I also know that doctors try to poo-poo anything that is outside their realm of 'big money drug companies' and 'wait in waiting rooms for 1 hour first.' I already know the CEO is a 24yo kid.. more power to him. I'd rather give my money to someone that's my generation than a baby boomer.

I may be willing to try this on my gf and report on AT about her progress if I get anyone else here saying they've done it and had positive results. Believe me.. if it doesn't work, I'll be angrily posting about it.

PS.. My opinion about lactose intolerance:

Nobody is 100% lactose intolerant. The human body can be coached into digesting pretty much anything. If you want to be lactose tolerant, a good start would be to take it in small doses and gradually increase them until the body can handle dairy. The same goes for alcohol.. or spicy food..

If she wants to buy it, let her.
If she wants you to buy it for her, dump her and get gf who will not have bloating, rectal gas (flatus), diarrhea, etc. after eating the Mac N Cheese you just cooked.

You're right in that there are varying degrees of lactose intolerance. I'm only mildly lactose intolerant, since I can eat some dairy without having any problems. Others however are essentially 100% lactose intolerant and will indeed react to the slightest amount of dairy product. I don't know anything about building up tolerance to lactose; you should do some research and let us know.

Anyway, if I know I'm going to eat a large amount of dairy, I just take one of those Lactaid pills and I'm fine. Perhaps you should try those for your GF?
