I bought a nikon 995 a year or so back , and I was upgrading the frimware and i'm guessing it didn't go right, cause it won't turn on now. IS this covered I'm planning on going to BB this week and asking them, but looking for some thoughts as if its covered or not.

Best Buy will most likely tell you to go to hell.

Just tell them it suddenly stopped working. You mention the flash and they will void your protection policy on the spot.

I sold them for a year.

Bottom line: You upgrading firmware = user error, not covered.

You should be ok, just hope its DEVO so they swap it out on the spot.

I hate the new PSP's that expire after the first replacement. :|

Your OP (Original post) -
I was upgrading the frimware and i'm guessing it didn't go right, cause it won't turn on now.

Anyway, it depends on the manager you encounter while doing the exchange. Usually they let the "tech" check the product. They check for serial# (matches PSP plan), conditon and functionality. Then they either replace it on the spot (same or like product) or have it serviced.

Worked at the BB warehouse (Store #308 Orland Park, IL) for 7 years and dealt with lots of returned/devo products. I usually sent out 3 to 4 carts every week full of VCR/Stereo systems/Computers/Camcorders. Turn around was usually 1 to 2 weeks.

Had a sister buy a washer/dryer/refrigerator with a PSP plan. Dryer breaks down 1 week before the 3 year PSP expires. Called Best Buy and had it fixed within a week.

Here's my advice. Just bring back the item and tell them it it suddenly stopped working. Dont tell them about the firmware upgrading. Chances are, they will exchange it a same priced model if they don't sell the product anymore. Good luck.

Update us on how it went. :)
