And if you have a clearance you are subject to peeing in a cup so I don't understand your last post. And you really have no privacy with a clearance, your life is the government's business.

You don't have any idea what you're talking about. NO ONE in our research quad but the exempt personel (janitors/secretaries etc) pee in any cup. Good luck finding researchers willing to do that.

That should be "Do employers like brown noses?" The answer is employers want people who are smart enough not give stupid answers. Employers are looking for people who will mesh with everyone else, be productive, think on their feet, and come up with smart solutions to problems. You don't want to answer questions that make you look bad.

I would rather hire one who showed he knows where his weaknesses are than one trying to bs himself into beeing some kind of super human. If he already starts to bs in the interview I wouldn't be able to trust him afterwards.

Heh, it was quite funny they actually had an interview with a psycholgist with expertise in this area in the radio this morning. She said that these test was beneficial to both parts, as it was a good supplement tool to see how well the applicant fitted into the company. On the other hand the applicant could get some good information on what was expected from the company and therefor do a better judgement on if he actually wanted to work for it or not. So she said that when used correctly it was a win win situation. But she also said that it would be good if the company informed the applicants that if they went through to 2nd round they would have to do these tests, and explain why they do it.
