Anyone have any opinions on those CD/MP3/MD player to radio converter things?

So the stock stereo in my car finally crapped out, and now the only part of it that works correctly is the radio. I used to use one of those CD/MP3/MD player to tape converters to plug my Rio Volt into the tape player on the stereo, but the tape player is now dead. Since I'm a cheap/poor student, I don't feel like spending $100+ getting a new deck for my car, especially since the car isn't going to last much longer. I remember seeing these things that basically plug into a headphone jack, and then transmit radio signals a short distance so that essentially, you can use any sort of portable audio equipment through your car's stereo as long as it has a radio. I know these range from about $20-$30, so if they work well, I'd probably pick one up and just use that. Anyone have any opinions on these, as far as reliability and everything goes? Also, what kind of battery life do they get?

Thanks...I would've searched on google, but I honestly have no idea what to search for, since I don't know the proper name for these things.

Jacob

Edit: Okay, found a few brief pages on Google about these things so you know what the hell I'm talking about.

I had one of those about 4 years ago, and it was crappy at best. Very, very poor reception, it would go out of tune whenever you hit a big bump, and it sucked up the accessory(lighter) outlet so that I couldn't use it for my diskman. Also had a ton of cords dangling all over the place.

The cassette deck in my camry just crapped out on me, and I'm looking at some cheap Panasonic MP3 CD deck for $250 to dump in there. Sure it costs more, but the convenience of it not requiring the fm modulator and the diskman/rio, as well as chewing up batteries is worth the added costs to me anyway.

Aww...you edited :p

I don't think I would've been terribly interested in buying your deck anyway...I wouldn't know where to start with installing it :)
