well, ive had this crappy shelf system in my room for many years now, and it supposedly has dolby prologic. in the manual, it says you can experience some cool stuff if you get an audio tape or audio disc that has the label "dolby surround" on it.

now, ive been using this for a stereo with normal cds and burned mp3 discs for a long time. there obviously isnt much surround sound goin on. i have dvds that have dolby prologic tracks on them, but i cant play them on my system because they are dvds.

ive never seen any dvds, or downloadable sample tracks that utilize this prologic thing. does anyone know if this is even real? its probably really cruddy, but im interested, as ive never heard any surround sound stuff before (except in the theaters of course).

prologic is useless. mono low quality rear channel:p there are dts cds.

at best cheap surround from any source is like the surround button on cheap 20 dollar taiwan speakers. enhances treble, adds echo, maybe route echo to back.
