Anyone have any experience with working as an Ameriprise Financial Advisor?

I was thinking about applying for a position at Ameriprise but every thing I have read online says to stay away from it (some people even to the extent of saying it was almost a pyramid scheme). Can anyone tell me what experience they have had with it?

I ran into at least one person in college who worked for them, this is undergrad.
Now think about it, what kind of "financial advisor" do you think an undergrad with no experience is?
Bottom line is it's just sales. If you're still in college then maybe you should try it out. Then again maybe not.

Pure sales. YOu know those business cards you put in fishbowls at restaurants for free meals? They fund that and you have to sit through an hours of BS on why you should let them manage your money and take 1%.

That is crazy... I had my car/home insurance through American Express Casualty who spun off and became Ameriprise. Should I be worried?

EDIT: Maybe a different company? The insurance you get through Costco is through Ameriprise... Link

Odd. I never knew there was such hatred of them.
