I am going to be formatting my pc this weekend (new videocard + it needs it) and was wondering does anyone have any experience with this website or any of its guides ?

I know back in the 95/98 days tweaking was worth it...but I am not so sure with XP.

I would prefer not to waste my time reading all that crap over to get a 1.5% gain in performance.

I play mostly Civ4 and Source Engine games. Will be firing up galciv2 this weekend and eventually oblivion.

Opinions ?
 
I'd say it would be worth it to at least skim through the game guides, HL2 especially. It really depends on the type of system you have, and what tradeoff you want in terms of eye candy versus frames per second.

If you've got a top of the line system and video card, the tweaks probably won't make much difference. But if you've got midrange hardware and don't really care about maxing out the visuals, then the tweaks probably would make a significant difference.
 
As far as tweaking XP itself, skim it, there's some good stuff in there.

Really good tweaks for games in there though.

Just like any tweak guide, it has its share of false information and poor advice. I skimmed through and there is some good stuff in there though.
