Anyone have any experience with the Sony T1

I would like to get myself a nice digicam, and this one just stands out to me. The screen is beautiful, the pictures it takes are beautiful, and the camera is tiny. Does anyone have any real life experience with it, and would care to comment? I don't need tons of advanced features found on a SLR camera, just want point and shoot with the same quality 😛. I like that it is 5 MP CCD as well. The one downside I can see is that it uses a memory stick, but I think I can overlook that, as long as I can get people to give me positive feedback.

If you don't think the T1 is good, could you suggest another pocket camera with similar quality?

ive seen it and used it, its nice, the LCD is HUGE, pics are nice as well, the suffer the normal bad things as all super compact cams do, minimal manual controlls, poor low light preformance, noise at higher ISOs....

but if all you do is take snap shots its a great camera

EDIt: just so you know, NO P&S digital cam will give you the same quality as a DSLR, some come close like the Sony f717 and 828, but they cost almost as much as one anyway

Even worse on this because of the thinness. But other then that, great camera.

It's a great camera, for the most part...huge high resolution LCD, which draws tons of power and no choice for a viewfinder. Aside from that, picture quality just isn't going to be on par with nicer cameras, but that's for you to determine how important it is. Myself, I just saved some money and bought a Minolta Dimage Xg, which is still ultra-compact, and has digital and optical zoom, which the Canon counterpart doesn't.

Good luck, you can't go "wrong" between the heavy-hitters. 🙂

thanks for the links/information guys!! i was considering this very same camera recently, so its funny how this thread popped up. after reading the review in the the link that anubis posted, i think i may just have to pull the trigger on this one! thanks again, and thanks marauder911 for the thread!
