i understand sims2 won't install if CD DVD software is on the puter.. according to TechTv anyway

yeah they were probably talking about cd emulation software (daemon tools, alcohol) and not cd burning software. i'm a fan of nero personally.

CD Burner XP Pro.

it's free and I like it a lot better than Nero.

It does not seem to have some of the features like vcd burning or slideshows on dvd/cd etc. . .
