Anyone have any experience with MacAlly firewire/usb2 drive enclosures?

i'm thinking about getting one (PHR-100AC) for a 200GB Seagate 7200.7 -- anyone have any experiences (good or bad) with these? the two issues that i'm potentially concerned with are

1) no fan (which is great for noise but will this thing dissipate enough heat through its aluminum body?) and

2) apparently it does not use the oxford 911 chipset (is this important?)

Can't say on the one your looking at, but this one made by BYTECC works great.

It gets very warm but not what i whould call hot.
