I have. Not a bad little box, with a few cautions.

First, this is the ONLY product out right now in its category. I define the category as:
1) NAS box.
2) Bring your own hard drive
3) Hard drive installs inside the box (no separate USB enclosure).
4) No special drivers needed (can work under Windows, Linux, Mac)
5) Well under $200.
If you have these requirements, this box has NO competition.

Well, now some notes. The box works well, but ther are some limitations.
1) I get a transfer speed of around 6MB/s reading and 4.5MB/s writing. This is for big files. If you are transfering a lot of little files, expect around 0.5MB/s.
2) With the firmware revision 1.00, you were limited to 2GB per file. This limitation is gone with firmware 1.01, so upgrade.
3) There is an odd problem where modifying files using Microsoft office causes the computer to lock up for a minute or so when you save. I have been in contace with tech support on this issue. They have repeated the problem and will be working on a fix in an upcoming firmware release. I get around the problem by using OpenOffice ;)
4) The unit does NOT spin-down the drive during idle times. I have some hope that this will be fixed in a future firmware revision.
5) The fan is a little loud.

But, as long as you are not using Microsoft Office and are not editing gigabyte files, you may just be quite happy with this unit. I like it and have decided to keep mine.

The reason that I got one was to use for a small, cheap file server so that my wife can access her business files from any computer. So I use it for active storage. From your questions, on the other hand, it sounds like you might be looking for a backup device. In that case, I would suggest a $30 USB enclosure. You can plug it in once a day/week/month to do your backups, and then hide it someplace. It will be cheaper, and transfer files about 10 times faster.

Backup is all about safety.

Wireless Slow speed, Instability, and Security Conundrums, is all about Non-Safety.

I have never used the box wirelessly. This is the ONLY device that I own that can do wireless.
