Anyone have an opinion on compgeeks geek kits namely the multimedia kits?

Mainly the one found here. I am not interested in the speakers just the cd drive and the sound card. What kind of quality is the sound card how would it compare to Soundblaster Value, how good is the cdrom drive? Anyone every buy this who could comment
 
Well the sound card looks like a Aureal Vortex 1 sound card, and they are decent... Not as good as a Soundblaster Live Value, but unless you're a real audiophile with great speakers, you won't be able to notice a difference.
 
Unless your budget is really strapped, I would be looking at the Artec 16xDVD at GoogleGear ($38. w/free 2d shipping) and use the CMI 6-channel sound card at Computer Geeks. I can't make a case for buying any CD-ROM-only drives anymore. IAC, never heard of that brand of CD-ROM drives. Aureal has been folded into CL, so the chance of updated drivers in the future is very low.
