Looking at a few TVs right now. Like the DLPs. From what I've read, the LG might have a slightly better picture. I haven't personally seen the LG yet.

Just curious if anyone here has an LG set or Samsung DLP. Would you still get the same set if you buy again? Do you like the TV now that you've had it awhile?

Is LG a good company now? I'm not all that familar with the name but it seems to be popping up a lot lately.

Thanks.

LG makes good products all around...they are Korean if I am correct. I have an Infocus 4805 DLP, love it.

I'd go with an LCD just incase you wanted to hear from me :p

I think the technology is a little more solid... DLP TV's look fantastic, but I don't think they will last forever.

When one of the little mirrors stops, you get a dead pixel effect, apparently this does happen somewhat commonly.

Another CON of a DLP TV is the fact that some (not sure if all) are actively cooled, so you have a fan noise to deal with at low volumes. Not on an LCD.

Just my .02

LCDs seem overpriced. Sort of like Plasmas. I would think with a 4 year service plan I'd be set for awhile. When the warranty runs out, I theoretically have a perfectly working set. Also, 4 years down the road, the 1080p units might be somewhat affordable and would replace the unit I'm buying now as the main TV in the house.

I do appreciate input. I'm hoping to have several options to evalutate before deciding.
