Anyone have an HP Proliant Microserver?

So hardforums has a 15 page thread about the HP Proliant Microserver as a nice filler for the old Mediasmart line. The problem is the damn color scheme on that forum is awful and makes me want to gouge my eyes after a few minutes. It's probably related to my cheap TN panel. Anyway, from what I've been able to glean, its file sharing performance varies pretty widely. I'm wondering if any ATers own one and if so, what kinds of throughput they get.

Specifically I want to know how it fares serving a ZFS raid-z with 4 drives or a ZFS raid-z2 with 5. I want to know speeds at stock (1GB) and upgraded 2GB/4GB/8GB ram. I'm also curious about performance between current builds of Freenas, Nexenta, and FreeBSD. I realize I probably won't get all of these data points, but I figure a few here and there would help me get a better sense of whether I should pick one up for myself.

I've been wanting a small, power efficient, and capable ZFS NAS for a while. As far as I can tell, the ZFS part of it means I'm looking at $350 for a 2-bay diskless (Thecus) or about $700-900 for a 4-bay diskless (Thecus or Zenavault). An HP Microserver is $300-350.

I've been doing more reading about ZFS, and the topic of ECC memory has come up a few times. So if I look for a small, power efficient, and capable ZFS NAS with ECC memory, I can either pick up a Microserver or go the DIY route. Pricewise, they're comparable. The Microserver would be a little smaller than most off-the-shelf cases, so it wins in the size department. But if the performance isn't up to snuff, I'd rather save myself the headache and just DIY it.

Thanks- I missed the SPCR forum thread. I did have a look at the SPCR review, but it doesn't really delve into performance. It (understandably) focuses on noise and power efficiency. Anyway, I just read through the thread, and nobody really talks about performance figures.
