Anyone have an ECS K7S5A with PC2700 DDR running in it?

Just trying to decide if it is worth the gamble to buy the 2700 DDR Kingston stick which is not listed as recommended on Kingstons site (they only recommend PC2100 whereas Crucial offers both 2100 and 2700)...thanks.

I have PC2700 in my K7S5A but obviously it's running @ 266 not 333.

Hey Thorin thanks, I now wonder if it is really worth it to bother with the 2700 as I will most likely upgrade my memory when I switch my mobo/cpu anyway....

I think I've got NewEgg's cheapest Kingston PC2700 stuff in three K7S5A systems here at work (I know it is Kingston PC2700, just not sure if it is indeed the cheapest variety that NewEgg sells). No problems with the systems essentally on 24/7 since January.

unless the stick is capable of faster memory timings, it wont make a difference. the board is abad overclocking board.

hey oo, not going to OC it just know that the board has some serious memory issues and didn't know if they were limited to PC133 sticks or also PC2100/2700 DDR sticks....thanks

If you need more RAM then buy whatever is cheapest. I have a stick of 2700 with a stick of 2100 because when I bought the second stick 2700 was cheaper then 2100. Other then that there's no use buying 2700 as if it's going to be some type of 'upgrade' when it's only gonna run @ 2100 speeds.
