Took out my gf4ti4200 on my nforce2 system and plugged in 9800pro.
Reboot, screen is totally messed up...weird colors etc. cannot even see black and white
POST screen..all fvcked.

any ideas?...i tried everything in the bios settings and updated my mobo bios.
final thought is maybe get different psu?...i even unplugged EVERYTHING except hdd and
still nothing...ati sux.

Yeah, i Have had a 9700 Pro do that...I had to send it in for RMA...this was after I had the card for a year though.

AGP: Try the card in another computer, then RMA that puppy.
PCI: try another slot, then slots in another computer, then RMA that puppy.

(also, learn to post in the correct forum) 🙂

I had a similar problem with my 9700pro. It turns out that the fan was going bad, so I replaced it and now it works fine.

Crap, I wonder if that was the only problem with mine...oh well, I rather RMA it since it still is under Warranty...gotta love the ATI 3 year warranty 🙂

never..brand new made by ati..just got it today.

In that case, I'd tried it in another system if possible. If it's still a no-go then RMA that thing...it was probably DOA.

mutha..i popped it into my other old p3 crap ol computar and it booted up and looked fine... what the heck?

Put it back into the original system and see what happens...maybe it just needed to be reseated. If it still doesn't work, I would go into your BIOS and set the default "safe" settings and try again.

still no work on mine...
reset bios...even underclocked at 100mhz instead of 133.
agp 4x instead of 8x 🙁

even if it was my psu...i unplugged every thing except hdd and video-pwr-in and still corruption...
zero improvement.
