Anyone have an Asus X401?

I am typing from one now. It was obtained at BestBuy for ~$300.

I just had my first touchpad glitch, while I was typing. The reviews mentioned that issue, and the spacebar, which I don't seem to have a problem with yet.

I took ours back because the space bar didnt work some times.

I don't know if I should have picked this one up. After watching a disassembly video on youtube, you have to take the entire keyboard off to get at the HD, and you have to take the motherboard out, just to get at the RAM.

These laptops were meant to be disposable, I'm afraid.

I might have kept ours, although a wonky space bar isn't a sign of good design or build quality..

but Asus' warranty convinced me to return it. They expect me to pay shipping to get their crap fixed.

Compare that to Dell, I bought a scratch and dent laptop, the keyboard worked fine but was a bit bent. Didn't affect how it worked so it was acceptable for a scratch and dent.

I called them up, they overnighted me a brand new one, no charge.
