I currently have a CITIBank Plat. Dividend Select and was wondering if its worth getting an AMEX Blue card since it seems to have better cash back stuff. I dont carry a balance so none of the APR stuff applies, just interested in the perks.

i have an amex blue. i like the chip they have in the card. more and more places are starting to develop the "swipe and go" tech. i've had it for about 10months.

I've got both the gold and blue, I'm not sure aboutt he blue in particular, but Gold has some decent perks. Outside the rewards point, they have free towing/roadside assistance, free rental insurance and stuff like that.

The cash back is only 1% on certain purchases (groceries and gas stations) and 0.5% on the rest. Once you spend $6500 in a year, it goes to 5% (groceries and gas stations) and 1.5% everything else.

I estimated how much I charge a year and found that the Chase Freedom Visa is a much better deal for me.

I have a blue, and I use my Citi for rewards instead of it. The points just don't seem to add up for the blue even though I've made several large purchases on it. Plus I just tried to use some of my points last week at ticketmaster and they didn't work so I ended up paying cash for something I was expecting to be free. I still use AmEx for some things due to the protection they offer, but everything else goes to Citi.

Check this site out link

It's also good to keep an eye out for promotional rates, Discover runs them pretty often (double percentage for certain months on certain categories, etc)
