I just orderd an Alpha PAL 6035 with a Delta 60mm install'd from 2cooltek.com, i was wondering if anyone has or has had one of these?, was it any good?, could there really be anything better?. I just orderd my Antec SX1030 also and im going to need two front intake fans. Since the delta 60mm is supposed to be pretty loud i'd like to get some fans in the front that would dround the high pitch noise of the Delta and also pull in alot of fresh air, any recomendations? Thanks in advance

Yes I have the exact same cooler, and I also have an Antec 830 case which is the same size as your 1030. I got mine from cooltek also. Your case should come with 2 fans already, as for the Delta fan its not that loud to me. Case fans well in a post I made here I have been thinking about the Silencer fans. Also Panaflo are good I have heard. I am using the 2 fans that came with the case and 2 Sunon for the intake. Your 1030 only holds one intake fan unless you use the spot in the HD bay, then you can have 2 intake.

If I were you I'd use some Arctic Silver 2 instead of the stuff that comes with it.

Yeah I am just using regular thermo compound. I run at 27c degrees at idle and 40c under load. This is with a P3 running at 155 FSB and 1.9cv. I got a temp drop of about 3 degrees when i put my components into my Antec case.

The size of a grain of rice practically and a razor used in box cutters and take ur time and spread it evenly. Do this twice. The reason for the second time is to make sure u've made full surface contact the first time ok and to make sure u don't have too much in one area. Take ur time.

The Alpha 6035 with the Delta 60mm can be a pretty good performer provided you have a good ventilated case. That's because for Alphas, they suck air out instead of blowing in. The intake for Alpha is near to the surface of the mobo, so unless your mobo is cooled pretty well, chances are you will get a higher temp duing CPU full load. This is especially true if you are using a higher than 1Ghz CPU.

In my own test with 1.4Ghz TB, the alpha 6035 gives a thermal efficiency of 0.26 C/W with the 60mm Delta..which is pretty good...but the test is controlled ensuring that ambient air goes into the Alpha and hot air is being ducted out. Test is done using thermocouples attached to the core and a digital thermometer is used.

Hope this info helps.
