Anyone have an Aerocool Gatewatch control panel?

Hey guys,

I recently got an Aerocool case with integrated Gatewatch fan controller/temp monitor alarm system. When I finally installed the Gatewatch control software (yup, it's software controlled via USB) yesterday, it tried to connect to www.hinet.net. So far I've been blocking this effort via my firewall software. Does anyone know why it is doing that and if it is safe to let it?

I called Aerocool today and someone is supposed to be getting back to me by eMail, but you know how that goes...
